MYR expecting to meet parking capacity, allow extra parking time

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Myrtle Beach International Airport has enacted its contingency parking plan using overflow parking spaces because of increasing passenger numbers coming into the airport. They urge passengers to take extra time to look for parking in the coming days.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A couple taking a late-night walk along the Boardwalk in Myrtle Beach was
held at gunpoint and assaulted late Saturday night.

A police report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department says
the victims began their walk at the Wayfarer Hotel at  the 4th Ave N. beach access
entrance and walked for 20 minutes when they noticed a man following behind
them.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Zombies, aliens, superheroes, spaceship pilots and more are converging on the Myrtle Beach Convention Center this weekend for XCON '13, Myrtle Beach's annual comic book convention.

This year features a number of celebrity guests, including two actors from AMC's wildly popular zombie drama, "The Walking Dead." Michael Rooker, who single-handedly brought the complicated character Merle Dixon to life, will be joined by IronE Singleton, who played T-Dog.

Big changes planned for Restaurant Row

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Restaurant Row sits right between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle beach. It used to be a thriving area, but has had some trouble in recent years.

There has been a lot of turnover with restaurants, and some empty ones are just sitting beside Highway 17 Bypass. Long-time business owners say it's the location that might be the curse, because although a great deal of traffic passes by, it's hard to get drivers to actually stop.

Police name suspect in Blue St. stabbing

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police responded to an apparent stabbing on Blue Street Thursday night that sent one person to a local hospital.

An officer responded to the 900 block of Blue Street at about 10:22 p.m. Thursday and spoke to the victim, who said that as he was walking home, an unknown man charged him, they started fighting, and then he pulled a knife and stabbed the victim, according to a Myrtle Beach Police incident report.

Popular restaurant concept debuts in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A booming restaurant concept is making a debut in the Grand Strand. The owners of "Green Grubbin" on South Kings Hwy say their new restaurant may help fill a gap in Myrtle Beach.

While there are hundreds of fast food restaurants to choose from, the new fast-service salad bar is promoted as a place to grab healthy and fresh food fast.

Summer-like weather on the way
