United States Basketball Association to Host Local Sneaker/Shoe Drive

North Myrtle Beach, SC –The United States Basketball Association (USBA), North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department and North Strand Helping Hand (NSHH) are partnering to distribute gently used sneakers and shoes. The program was initiated by the USBA to give back to the North Myrtle Beach community for their warm hospitality extended during the three-week long event.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Local and nationally renowned magician and illusionist Carl Michael will be bringing his spectacular and breath-taking performance to the Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach. He was recently named Grand Strand Magician of the Year by the Myrtle Beach Herald and the Carolina Forest Chronicle for his spectacular shows.

The one-hour show begins Monday, July 16 and will run Mondays and Thursdays through Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The Landmark is located at 1501 S. Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach.

Bike Rodeo and Safety on Wheels

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Grand Strand Optimist Club is hosting an event with Myrtle Beach Fire and Police Department to promote bike safety.

The Bike Rodeo and Safety on Wheels will be held on Saturday, July 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at the First Presbyterian Church at 3810 Robert Grissom Parkway. The event will include bike inspections, safety inspections, bike decorating, a bike parade, a bike autocross course, free pizza and refreshments.

All kids who attend will get a free helmet. For more information call 843-448-4832.

USBA hosts shoe drive in North Myrtle Beach

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Do you have shoes that you're tired of wearing? Why not donate them for a good cause and treat yourself to a new pair.

The North Strand Helping Hand, a United Way of Horry County agency, will oversee the distribution of the shoes to members of the community who are in need.

"This is perfect timing as families prepare for back-to-school and fall sports," said NSHH Director, Margaret Owens.
