New Beginnings organize walk to end NEDA Awareness Week

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) The New Beginnings from Myrtle Beach High School is organizing a walk to raise awareness of eating disorders on Saturday, March 3.

This event falls on the end of NEDA Awareness Week, and will begin in Plyler Park at 11 a.m. near the Skywheel. The awareness walk will proceed down the beach from Plyler Park in the direction of the 2nd Avenue Pier before turning around and heading back, for a total of three miles.

The New Beginnings is a foundation, started by three Myrtle Beach high juniors, to help spread awareness about eating disorders and lend aid to those affected by them. According to the National Eating Disorders Association, over ten million females and one million males in the United States are fighting the battle against anorexia or bulimia.
